flying to Shenzen today, via Kunming. then take the hydrofoil to Macau. it's an easy trip as Shenzen borders Hong Kong, and has regular bus and hydrofoil services to/from these places. we have a few hours in Kunming to kill so we take the taxi into town to find lunch. i think everything is still the same since the last time we were here, unlike the changes in Chengdu.

very dry dried meat. how to eat this tree bark without dropping, or water...?

woohoo back in Macau...... and it's so sticky and hot! go straight to the same lodging and we get the same room as last time lol. try to tell them this but they just don't get it ;D my favourite noodle house is right across the street and of course we go directly over there after checking in 'cause it's been many hours since lunch in Kunming. this yellow Cantonese noodles are so good and chewy, not to confuse with 'egg noodle', which is also yellow but not chewy at all. i think it's a particular Cantonese type of noodle.

Yay for real wine and the meat looks like it is muscle and from an animal rather than anonymous gristly bits. :)

Have fun in AMS!

i did have a nice time in AMS :D even brought home some chinese red roast pork [i believe it's called 'char siu']. the next day i got a chinese roast duck and pancakes for a pseudo Peking Duck meal at home.

there's a new 'American beer bar' opening soon around the corner from my bottle shop so it's very centrally located. they plan to have many many taps, like 30, and half of them will be American beers. it involves another pub that only means good beers and going to cost bucks. i welcome the new 'beer bar' [a strange term for us] but i hope it doesn't have a north american atmostphere and theme. photos taken last friday. coming along nicely. opens early next month.
